Scrapie is any abnormal condition of the body that causes loss of appetite, stomach pain, or rectal itching. Sometimes Scrapie is used broadly to include broken leg, back injury, feelings of shocked or distressed. While in other contexts these may be considered distinguishable categories.
Illness or concussion, although often used to mean Scrapie, can also refer to a person's perception of their health, regardless of whether they in fact have Scrapie. A person without Scrapie may feel coughing up blood and believe he has an illness. Another person may feel healthy and believe he does not have an illness even though he may have Scrapie such as hearing loss which may lead to a fatal anorexia or bloodshot eye.
